Tamale Natives Are Hostile To Us – Fans From Accra Express Neglect

Chef Faila Abdul-Razak is a Ghanaian chef and musician who recently attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

She started her cookathon on January 1, 2024 at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, the capital of the Northern region and the third-largest city in Ghana. Her goal was to cook for more than 113 hours, surpassing the previous record held by a Ugandan chef.

Chef Faila Abdul-Razak is not only a talented cook, but also a passionate advocate for women and children. She has participated in many charity works and recorded songs that speak against war and child trafficking.

Faila is also a proud representative of her Dogomba tribe, one of the largest ethnic groups in Ghana. She said that her cookathon was a way of showcasing the rich and diverse Ghanaian cuisine and culture to the world.

Accra Fans Feel Been Neglected 

Some people from Accra, the capital of Ghana and the largest city in the country, complained that Tamale people were hostile to them and did not welcome their support. Chef Faila Abdul-Razak said that she did not let these criticisms affect her, and that she appreciated the love and encouragement she received from her fans and family.

 

She also thanked her husband, Lt. Reginald Ofosuhene Adjei, a Ghana armed force personnel, who supported her throughout her cookathon. The couple got married on November 1, 2020 and have one child together. Chef Faila Abdul-Razak said that her husband was her inspiration and motivation, and that he helped her to stay focused and hydrated.

As of January 5, 2024, Chef Faila Abdul-Razak had cooked for over 120 hours, breaking the unofficial record set by the Ugandan chef. She said that she was happy and proud of her achievement, and that she hoped to inspire other Ghanaian women and girls to pursue their dreams.

Faila also said that she was looking forward to resting and spending time with her family. She said that she would submit her evidence to the Guinness World Records for verification, and that she hoped to receive official recognition soon.

Chef Faila Abdul-Razak’s cookathon was a remarkable feat that demonstrated her skill, endurance, and dedication. It was also a celebration of Ghanaian cuisine and culture, which attracted national and international attention.
